Residential aged care services creating an environment of trust, care and support…

Saint Hilarion’s overall aim is to provide quality care in a loving environment. We plan and implement care complementary to the health and well being of our residents taking into account specific cultural and religious needs. We encourage our residents to play an active part in meeting their physical, mental, spiritual and cultural needs, and we pride ourselves in providing a safe, pleasant, homelike environment, where we communicate appropriate information to assist our residents to make informed choices and meet personal needs. We assist the individual to retain their independence with respect to rights, dignity and privacy and encourage our residents to participate in the planned social and physical activities of their choice.

It is also our aim to provide effective liaison with staff, residents, family, management and community support groups, providing human and material resource management, education programs meeting the needs of the individual. We continually review and maintain Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare work practices and have Quality Assurance Systems to achieve high performance levels thus ensuring all individuals are treated fairly, justly, reasonably and with Christian love.

In the high care accommodation a Registered Nurse practitioner and Enrolled Nurses or Personal Carers are on duty at all times to attend to residents needs. In the low care accommodation an Enrolled Nurse or Personal Carer is on duty at all times, with a Registered Nurse on call at all times. Nursing Care Plans are developed to encompass resident needs and are reviewed on a regular and consultative basis. As part of the Nursing Care Plans residents may receive visits from a Physiotherapist and a Podiatrist, a free service for high care residents.

We organise at cost, on behalf of our residents home visits from Opticians, Dentists, Hearing Specialists and Hairdressers We also arrange pharmacy services, access to books, magazines and newspapers upon request.

Each site has a Chapel, open daily for quiet prayer and meditation. Catholic Mass and other denominational services are held regularly. The Society engages the services of the Sisters of St Anthony to provide additional pastoral care and diversional therapy for the benefit of the residents.
