You can help us, and also have a great time, by joining one of our fundraising/volunteer committees.
The following groups host a number of events every year including dinners, balls, quiz nights, cocktail parties and whatever else can work!
Dolce Santi (Sweet Saints)
The Dolce Santi Committee involve volunteers, in co-operation with our Lifestyles and Occupational Therapy teams, engaging our staff, volunteers and care recipients to utilise our Community kitchen facility at the House of Saint Hilarion.
As the name suggests, Dolce Santi cook a range of sweet (and savoury) biscuits, cakes and other treats on a weekly basis to engage our care recipients who experience the pleasure of lovely aromas wafting through our home, not to mention the fun in observing the demonstrations and then doing the tastings.
We know that many in our community have great skills in the kitchen and personalities to match, and we invite you to put your hand up to volunteer by becoming a Dolce Santo! If you have two hours to spare on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis we would love to hear from you! We are sure you will have a fun time with us while helping to promote the wellbeing of our care recipients.
Our Ladies Committee has been doing a fantastic job for many years, staging our very popular Pasta Nights, Melbourne Cup luncheon and other fundraising events across Adelaide.
With planning meetings generally held over a café latte and biscotti in our café at The House of Saint Hilarion, the committee offers a great way to support our ageing community while making friends with this dynamic and very social group.
Next Generation Committee
As the name suggests this fundraising group with an average committee member age of around 35 is comprised of young professionals with some form of connection to Saint Hilarion who bring with them new ideas, great enthusiasm and links to the South Australian corporate sector.
The first Next Generation event was a Quiz Night held in early 2011 with over 300 people attending and $26,000 raised (after expenses) - a fantastic start! Some great events are planned for the next 12 months and we welcome your involvement.
